"The Power of Education: Breaking the cycle of poverty."

Education
Education is universally recognized as a transformative force, capable of breaking the cycle of poverty and opening doors to opportunity. For many children and youth in marginalized communities, access to quality education remains a distant dream. Our organization is committed to making this dream a reality, believing that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. By focusing on those with the least resources, we aim to create lasting change and empower future generations.

Mission and Core Principles

  • Commitment to supporting the extremely poor who lack resources for basic schooling.
  • Emphasis on equal opportunity, with priority for girl child education and marginalized communities.
  • Focus on practical skills, vocational training, and the dignity of labor as essential for future workforce development.

Key Areas of Intervention

aFinancial Support for Students

  • Scholarships covering tuition, exam fees, uniforms, and stationery for students from low-income families.
  • Stipends for student graduates volunteering as teachers in needy schools (e.g., “Teach for Nepal”).
  • Relief from financial burdens, providing mental peace to families.

bSchool Infrastructure and Learning Environment

  • Infrastructure support for public and community schools, especially in marginalized areas.
  • Provision of healthy mid-day meals to encourage school attendance.
  • Construction of segregated toilets and clean drinking water facilities.
  • Expansion of libraries and access to learning materials.

cPromoting Vocational and Life Skills

  • Priority for vocational education and skill development (e.g., sewing, basket weaving) for youth and women.
  • Teacher training programs for educators in poor localities.
  • Promotion of practical skills and inclusion of “Work is Worship” and “Dignity of Labor” in school curricula.

Examples of Activities (2022–2024)

To illustrate the impact of our work, here are some real examples from recent years:

  • Scholarship Support: In 2023, five students from economically challenged backgrounds received scholarships covering tuition, stationery, and other essential expenses. Beneficiaries ranged from primary to higher education levels.
  • Library Expansion: During the fiscal year 2079/80 BS (2022–2023 AD), we funded the expansion of the library at Jiri Secondary School in Dolakha. Serving 615 students and 29 staff, the enriched library became a central hub.
  • Sports Promotion: In 2080 BS (2023 AD), we supported the Mauwadevi Yuwa Club in Bara to organize the Third Manharwa Gold Cup Football Competition.
  • Vocational Training: Skill development programs in sewing and basket weaving provided women with practical skills for employment.
  • Teacher Training: We organized training sessions for teachers from poor localities, helping them improve their teaching methods and effectiveness.
  • Sanitation and Hygiene: Installation of separate toilets for girls and provision of sanitary pads in schools improved health and attendance among female students.

Looking Ahead

Our commitment to expanding educational opportunities remains unwavering. By focusing on both academic and practical skills, we aim to empower children and youth to build better futures for themselves and their communities. Through continued support, innovation, and partnership, we strive to reduce inequalities and create a more just and prosperous society—one educated child at a time.
